Maine Prairie Township Comprehensive Growth & Board Meeting
June 4 & June 25th 2009

Chair Loewen opened both board meetings with the pledge to the flag.

Charles Marohn from Community Growth Institute, opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. with everyone writing down goal statements,  The group then went around the room and discussed what they see in the future for Maine Prairie Township.

The June 4th meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.

The June 25th meeting began at 7:00 p.m.  The time was set earlier so that a decision could be made on the road projects.  Powder Ridge Road was discussed whether to repair, patch and seal the road or to reclaim the road as was stated in the bid.   Supervisors Unterberger/Loewen made a motion to accept the contract to reclaim Powder Ridge Road as per bid since it did not warrant a repair, patch and seal job.  Wicker voted no.  Motion carried.

Carnelian Lake Road – after reviewing the contract, the date to start the project will be changed to start after July 7th so the assessment hearing can take place as required by law.  Supervisors Wicker/Unterberger made a motion to accept the contract with Mid MN Hot Mix as per the bid with the change of start date.  Motion carried

Supervisor Wicker stated that he received a complaint about Eclipse & Eldorado Road.  Wicker wanted to know if the ½ mile stretch could be done this year if the people would pay their portion through assessment.  He stated that he did not know if all the residents would be willing to have the road reclaimed.   Wicker will check into it further.

Charles Marohn from Community Growth Institute opened the meeting with reviewing the goals set last meeting.  It was time to work on setting the goals statements from the questions raised at the previous meeting.  The meeting will be continued on July 30th to complete setting the goal statements.

The June 25th meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
